About
We operate nationwide. Examinetics has more than 130 mobile units, allowing us the ability to reach every corner of the contiguous U.S. We service all of the lower 48 states and come to your facility, no matter where you are located. We have hubs located throughout the country for easy travel to your location.
We currently do not service Alaska and Hawaii.
Examinetics is not a clinic. All testing and medical services are performed onboard our fleet of vehicles or by our field technicians directly at your worksite inside your facility. Our corporate headquarters is located in the Kansas City metro area.
We also offer data management on our XM Solutions platform for companies that may opt to utilize local clinics but need a centralized data solution across various work sites.
We have several options to deliver services based on the testing needs of your location(s). We operate 4-person mobile units that can test four people at a time and 8-person mobile units that can test eight people at a time. We also have dedicated X-ray vehicles. Additionally, our mobile medical platform is a “clinic on wheels” that offers two examination rooms, digital x-ray equipment, audio booths, EKGs, blood draws and more. Some services offer the flexibility to be completed by our technicians performing testing within your facility.
Services
We perform many services related to occupational health and regulatory compliance. Our popular services include hearing conservation programs (audiometric testing, training and education) and respiratory protection services such as respirator medical clearance evaluations and qualitative & quantitative respirator fit testing.
We perform medical screening & surveillance exams for various exposures such as silica, heavy metals and lead, as well as DOT and HAZMAT/HAZWOPER exams. Examinetics offers a full comprehensive battery of tests to complete any medical surveillance requirements including pulmonary function testing, digital chest x-rays/b-read, electrocardiogram, blood tests, urinalyses and vision screening, as well as hands-on physician exams.
COVID-19 services are also available, including screenings and rapid virus testing.
The respirator medical clearance is done through an online questionnaire. We send you a link via email which you distribute to your workforce. Your employees click the link to access the medical questionnaire. When the questionnaire is completed, employees can view and print a copy of their results. The program administrator will then receive a notification by email letting you know which employee has completed the questionnaire, as well as the respirators they are cleared to wear. Additional reporting is available through your XM Solutions account.
Prices are based on the type of service, the number of workers needing testing and how many days we will be onsite. The cost of using Examinetics is often less expensive on a per-employee basis than sending your employees offsite to a clinic. Reach out to our sales team for a program review or comprehensive proposal.
Scheduling
We understand that businesses have different needs and work shifts, and you may operate 24/7 to fulfill the needs of your customers. We do our utmost to customize scheduling to reflect your operational and work shift needs.
If you are new to Examinetics, you will be assigned a Client Service Coordinator (CSC) based on your geographic location. Your CSC is an expert in scheduling and coordinating logistics in your area, and they are your direct point of contact for scheduling. Your CSC will schedule your testing, assign an Occupational Health Specialist to your site, and will address your questions about your service event.
If you are an existing client, simply contact your CSC to schedule your next testing. We can usually offer testing dates within 30-45 days of an initial request.
There are various prerequisites depending on your service. For the mobile unit, we require a flat, quiet area for testing and specific electrical plugin equipment depending on the type of unit.
Depending on your service, there are certain necessary forms and test cards that must be completed prior to service. Your CSC will assist you with identifying the appropriate forms needed prior to testing.
When it comes to testing, there are several practical actions that require completion beforehand. First, you must determine which of your workers need a test and what protective safety equipment they use. Your CSC will need to know the number of employees on each work shift, as well as the hours of each shift, to determine a schedule that will best accommodate your workforce.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking extra precaution to ensure your workers are safe and protected during the testing process by adhering to CDC guidelines. Before entering the mobile unit, employees will be screened by the Examinetics technician (if not offered by the employer) and given hand sanitizer.
Both Examinetics employees and screening participants must wear a mask for the duration of testing on the mobile unit.
Our technicians and mobile units reflect our ongoing pursuit of safety and sanitation. All OHS personnel will have full PPE: masks, gloves and protective suits. We have installed partitions between each testing station to keep distance between your employees. An air filter will be onboard to replace the air in the mobile unit. Between each group of testers, the mobile unit and equipment will be sanitized.
Data Management & Reporting
At the end of each test day, you will receive a hard copy summary of that day’s tests. Within 24 hours of testing you will have access to the majority of your testing via XM Solutions, our client data platform. For medical surveillance, screening, and clearance data, your professionally reviewed materials will be mailed to you in a comprehensive report within 30 calendar days.
Examinetics has a HIPPA-compliant online portal where you can access your workforce’s testing data. The metrics and insight provided by our online portal provides you with 24-hour access to reports to assist you in managing your program. XM Solutions offers a broad variety of reports from statistical summaries and trends to specific medical clearance reports. The popular “Shift Follow-up Report” is an example of an actionable report for a hearing conservation program, designed to keep safety managers aware of any red flags
You will have access to current clearance levels for every participant tested and test specific summary reporting. Step by step guidance for audio retesting, work relatedness evaluations and managing your OSHA/MSHA log are also available.
With various options for reporting, you can see your employee results by company, division, department or facility over any time period you choose. Permissions are scalable to give certain departments access to specific data.
Examinetics is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant.
SOC 2 is an auditing procedure that specifies certain standards for a service company to effectively manage customer data based on five areas - security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. It was developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and SOC audits can only be performed by independent CPAs (Certified Public Accountants) or accounting firms.
SOC 2 is a voluntary compliance standard for service organizations. If you are concerned with the security of your data, you should ensure your service providers have taken this important step. SOC 2 compliance should be a minimal requirement when considering a service provider to protect the data and privacy of your company.
Medical Services
Any testing follow-up directions, questions or concerns will be answered by our staff of in-house audiologists and nurses. For audiometric tests requiring follow-up, you will be notified via an email. The email will include instructions on how to access the employee specific reports on our portal.
In some cases, we will host a teleconference directly with you in order to gather additional medical information. You may need to obtain this from either a Primary Care Physician or by visiting a local clinic, and then submit the results for us to review.
Respiratory Protection Program
A respirator fit test determines whether or not a respirator fits over an individual’s nose and mouth and makes a tight seal to protect from hazardous airborne particles. There are two types of fit tests. A qualitative fit test determines if the person being tested can smell/taste external agents through the mask. A quantitative fit test uses a machine to assess the adequacy of the seal that is formed around the face by having the person do various exercises and maneuvers to detect potential leakage.
Quantitative fit testing measures the amount of air leakage into a tight-fitting facepiece relying on the assistance of a measurement calculating machine, while the employee performs various physical movements.
A fit test is required for all negative or positive pressure tight-fitting facepiece respirators. This includes both supplied-air respirators and air-purifying respirators, such as filtering facepiece (N95), half mask, full facepiece and powered-air purifying respirators.
In accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, if it is mandatory to wear an N95 respirator for your work, a fit test is required.
Per the OSHA Standard, fit testing is required prior to initial use, whenever a different respirator facepiece (size, model or make) is used, and at least annually thereafter.
Even though a respirator may not be required for the job you’re doing, you may want to use a respirator for protection while doing certain tasks. Though fit testing is technically not required in this scenario, it is important to ensure that wearing the respirator will not be detrimental to your health. OSHA still requires certain obligations from your employer.
All facial hair that may impede a tight seal for a facepiece must be shaven. Neatly trimmed, closely shaved facial hair, such as small goatees or mustaches, may be acceptable while wearing a respirator. Full beards are not acceptable.
According to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134:
The employer shall not permit respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who have:
- Facial hair interfering with the sealing surface or the value function.
- Any condition that interferes with the face-to-facepiece seal or valve function.
This requirement applies to both negative or positive pressure respiratory protective devices that rely on the principle of forming a face to facepiece seal.
Beard growth at points where the seal with the face and respirator occurs is a condition that has been shown by numerous studies to prevent a good face seal.
Miscellaneous
The primary purpose of medical surveillance is prevention. Surveillance helps to identify hazardous exposures. OSHA medical surveillance programs typically include the analysis of medical and work histories, physical assessment and biological testing, as well as atmospheric testing to determine the levels of certain contaminants in the environment. Information gathered in the process comes from both the employer and the employee. Under medical surveillance programs, periodic occupational health screening is required initially and at regular intervals thereafter.
Occupational health screening is a component of a medical surveillance program. Screening is clinically focused, and targets early diagnosis and treatment of conditions that may be the result of a work related hazardous exposure. Occupational health screening is specific to the type of hazardous exposure, and is required initially and at regular intervals thereafter.
