Ergonomic Assessment Options

Job Demand Analysis

Our analysis is a quantitative evaluation that outlines the physical demands of a job. This includes analyzing force, repetition, duration, and biomechanics of each job step.

This information can be used to:

  • Improve job descriptions

  • Provide a base for implementing other ergonomic programs

  • Give you tools to help guide injured employees back to full duty

Workstation Evaluations

This evaluation breaks down work procedures into physical tasks and measures the physical demand associated. Each task will be analyzed to identify potential for musculoskeletal disorders including repetitive injuries, strains, sprains, and muscular fatigue. It also addresses any environmental factors that can lead to injury.

The ergonomist will provide solutions to:

  • Mitigate or eliminate the risk of injury

  • Implement staff trainings, pre-hire screenings and/or stretching programs

Office Workstation Evaluation

The ergonomist will find the root cause of the employees’ discomfort through analysis of posture, office furniture set up and computer hardware placement.

This evaluation helps:

  • Find a balance between comfort, body mechanics, and office ergonomic guidelines

  • Inform how to effectively adjust workstations and provide recommendations on equipment necessary

  • Individualize follow-up care with stretching routines

  • Empower change by providing a copy of the evaluation and a guide for proper office ergonomic set up

Duty Status Verification

This offers a framework to interpret and apply a duty status given by a physician. The ergonomist will outline job tasks and measure the physical demands associated with each task. The treating clinician will then review each task and designate it as “approved” or “not approved.”

This provides:

  • Documentation to properly follow the duty status

  • A process to ensure employees work safetly

Ergonomic Educational Programs

Examinetics provides educational programs to maximize an employee’s interaction with their work environment and utilize ergonomic principles.

This includes:

  • Education on manual material handling, repetitive work, rotation implementation, work-rest cycle

  • Training for customized stretching and exercise, workstation set up, ergonomic tool use and body mechanics

  • Implementation of basic ergonomic principles into daily routines

Physical Ability Test

We identify essential functions of a job and measure the demands associated with each function. Each essential function will be placed into our physical ability testing format. The standardized testing format requires the employee perform the essential functions of the job in a controlled environment.

This provides:

  • An objective determination if an individual possesses the physical attributes to safetly complete essential functions of a job

  • A safe-guard to help keep your employees safe and reduce unnecessary injuries in the workplace
