Return-to-Duty / Fitness-for-Duty
Our Return-to-Duty and Fitness-for-Duty assessments determine whether an employee can safely return to their previous role or transition into a new one, along with any necessary accommodations to support their success on the job.
Examinetics Services
Our process for safely returning an employee to work begins with a thorough review of their medical history and current treatment plans. We then determine the most appropriate evaluation to assess the employee's duty status.
The evaluation process commonly includes:
Phone Consultation to review medical history and plans of care
- Physical Exam
- Physical Ability Test (Ergonomic Evaluation)
- Functional Capacity Evaluation
- Mental Health Evaluation
- Drug Screening
Return-to-Duty test and Fitness-for-Duty evaluation process:
1
Examinetics and employer partner to ensure employees receive proper medical documentation and releases to participate in the Return-to-Duty / Fitness-for-Duty program.
2
We review the proper medical documentation and clearance forms and conduct an interview with the employee to determine appropriate next steps.
3
Determination is made to either release the employee back to work, or require additional steps, including: procuring medical documentation, requiring a medical evaluation (a Fitness-for-Duty physical exam, mental health evaluation, diagnostic testing, or drug screen), a physical evaluation, and/or an ergonomic assessment.
4
Following completion of the process, Examinetics medical providers will provide a complete case study indicating the duty status of the employee.
